AI eye screening at national scale
Public example. SELENA+, a deep-learning system that reads retinal photographs for diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and macular degeneration, deployed in Singapore’s national diabetic retinopathy screening programme.
Pattern. AI takes the high-volume first read; trained graders and doctors handle the cases it flags.
